An officemate of mine, Joanne, gave everyone in our division Rubik’s Cube for Christmas. These are not the official versions, but are imitation versions with maddeningly weird cartoon figures on the stickers. (Solving the Cube with these figures is actually more difficult since not only do you have to have the correct colors, you have to have the center cubes rotated correctly.)

I’ve almost finished reading the second book of the Left Behind series, Tribulation Force. And it’s as fascinating as the first book. Nothing much actually happens in the sequel; the heart of the plot basically feels like one big prologue to the succeeding books. Only towards the end of the novel did the major event, the signing of a treaty between the Antichrist (through the Global Community, formerly the United Nations) and Israel, occur. This treaty formally started the seven-year period of Tribulation.

“Take Me to the Clouds Above” was my song of the week last week. It’s a dance track created by the English dance group LMC. The song combines two 80’s hits: “With or Without You” by U2 and “How Will I Know” by Whitney Houston. The opening lines of Whitney’s song, sung by Rachel MacFarlane, was overlaid on the background intro of U2’s song. Combined with great electronic melodies and a fast percussion line, this song totally rocks!

Taken from Stuart Langridge:
If there is at least one person in your life whom you consider a close friend, and whom you would not have met without the internet, post this sentence in your weblog, or journal, or whatever.

The article “Roads Gone Wild” from Wired Magazine explains a very interesting proposition: Remove the signs and all the marks that indicate traffic management from the roads and traffic will flow smoother, accidents will decrease, and heaven will come to earth because everyone isn’t sure where everything is on the road.

I’m now somewhat finished with the second phase of developing my weblog software, codenamed Syzygy (there is really such a word). What I’ve added is the ability for readers to add their comments to the page publicly. Before, you could send comments, but only to me. Now you, my dear readers, can have the option of leaving your comments for the world to read and react upon, or you can send me your comments privately.

I read this really interesting novel titled Left Behind written by Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins. Left Behind is actually the first of a series of twelve books giving a fictionalized account of the rapture and the Tribulation that follows after .
